Abstract of contributed papers  

Participation is open to all scientists and engineers whose work makes use of analytic and numerical methods, integral equations, ordinary and partial differential equations, asymptotic and perturbation methods, boundary integral techniques, conservation laws, hybrid approaches, vortex methods, signal processing and image analysis.

The authors of contributed papers are requested to submit an abstract (no longer than one page in pdf style) containing the title of the talk, a summary and the names and the affiliations of all authors. The abstracts must be sent to imse08@unican.es by April 1, 2008 (Extended date: April 30. Late papers could also be considered till a limited date). Please indicate the corresponding authors’ full institutional address, including telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address as well as the name of the author making the presentation at IMSE2008. You will receive by e-mail a notification on the acceptance of your abstract by April 30, 2008.

Presentation format

Each presentation is allotted a 25 minute slot plus 5 minutes for questions. Plenary lectures are allotted a 50 minute slot plus 10 minutes for questions.

PC's with Windows XP and Office connected to a data video projector and with the ability to open PDF and PPT files, will be available for the speakers at the conference. Bringing the file or files in a CD or USB drive is a perfectly fine option. For those who prefer using their own laptops, there will be other beamers available. 

There will also be overhead projectors, for those who intend to use transparencies in their talks.

Proceedings

Publication of peer-reviewed conference proceedings is planned. Detailed information will be given at the meeting. Proceedings of previous IMSE conferences have been published by Longman Scientific & Technical (IMSE93, 96), Chapman & Hall / CRC (IMSE98) and Birkhäuser (IMSE2000, 2002, 2004, 2006).

Note that it is a condition of publication that at least one of the authors of the article has registered as a participant in the conference. Also, only one talk is allowed per inscription.
